Chariman Welcome

Welcome to the Ellerslie Eagles Rugby League Football Club Inc.

The Ellerslie Eagles was founded over a century ago in 1912. Known then as the Wanderers Club, the world went to War in 1914, where our Club had a 4 year hiatus. Post World War 1, our Club changed to the Ellerslie United Rugby League Club which we held up until the 1971 AGM, where we changed to our current name.

We are a proud & long serving club within our local Community & both New Zealand & Auckland Rugby League. Throughout our 106 years of being established, we have had very strong representation at all levels & every facet of our great game, producing many high calibre Junior & Senior local, Regional, National, Pasifika & International - Players, Captains, Support staff, Managers, Coaches & Administrative personnel.

The Eagles have evolved over the different era's to welcome in other sporting codes to our Club & to the Ellerslie Domain, Athletic's, Softball, Tennis, Netball, Hockey, American Football, Basketball & even Fly Fishing & Pidgeon Racing - as well as the many community group events held here throughout our colourful past. Currently we have the Ellerslie Aikido Club & the Stonefields Sports Club (Netball & Basketball) along with the Ellerslie Residents Association meetings being held here.

As we prepare for this season & beyond, we look forward to welcoming back  our incumbent membership & excited to be welcoming in new members to our club. We have age grade football for all ages 4+ through to Premiers & the 35+ Masters (Men's & Women's) grade or as they say, "However young you feel" grade.  Also new to our game this year is Under 13, 15 & 17 Girls football. Please feel free to inquire about what may fit you &/or your families needs team wise.

Whatever your age, race, religion or gender, we serve as your local Community Sports Club where all are ,welcome to either participate as a player, a supporter or just as an affiliate member, where you can feel safe & relaxed, meet new friends, reconnect with old ones & have a place where you feel like you belong. Be you a individual or part of a family, we aim to include you all into our Family Club. We value our place in the community and being in a postion where we can show real leadership, support local business, promote a healthy lifestyle and come together. I look forward to catching up with you during the season.
